Where will the tour take place?
We offer a loop starting & ending in at the entrance of the Sonian forest, at the “Centre Adeps de la Forêt de Soignes”. The route goes through Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels – a real Belgian experience!
What is the pace?
Climate Classic Belgium is not a competitive race and there is no minimum speed. We advise you to sign up for the distance you feel comfortable with as there won’t be a ‘catcher car’ to bring you and your bike to the end.
I'm not sure if I'll make it to the finish line, what should I do?
Don’t worry. Our event is not about racing. It is about challenging ourselves and inspiring others. Do something new and different for the climate – and have fun doing so!
Reach out to your friends and train together. Get your more experienced cycling friend on board to support you and come together to our Climate Classic.
What type of bike do I need to participate?
Any bike that is in good mechanical condition. We request you to get your bike checked a month before the event so you don’t have surprises. It does not have to be a high-end bike, but it’s important that you feel comfortable on it so that you can finish the tour in a good way. E-Bikes, folding bikes, cargo bikes, tandem bikes are welcome too !
Are there water points?
Yes! Depending on your chosen distance, there will be one or two refreshment breaks with refreshments and snacks to keep you going.
Is the jersey mandatory?
Yes, for the cycling. The Climate Classic is all about making an impact and spreading the word; therefore wearing the iconic Climate Stripes helps us to be visible and identifiable. Our founder organisation has selected the most sustainable supplier of cycling jerseys – they’re manufactured in Portugal and align with our values.

For the running, the choice to wear the jersey is up to you.
Are there showers at the end?
Not for this edition 😊
There will be access to toilets at the start/end point.
ORGANISATION OF THE CLIMATE CLASSIC
How is the event linked to climate change?
We’ll bike through landscapes that are both impacted by climate change and serve as nature-based solutions. We will also highlight climate solutions for inspiration.
The running will go throug the Sonian forest which will heavily be influenced as a large part of its trees are not adapted for drought conditions.
How are the donations to the fundraiser used?
When you register for the Climate Classic, you automatically get a dedicated fundraising page. It’s free and easy to use.
100% of the money raised by you and the other participants goes directly to Natuurpunt and Natagora, two leading Belgian nature conservation organisations.
Natuurpunt will use the funds to protect an area of no less than 4.1 hectares along the Molenbeek, on the territory of Ganshoren. The name of the reserve is Gansbroek, in a metropolitan context where open space is scarce. Natuurpunt has been working for years on a large wetland where the rare crested newt and large copper butterfly have made their home.
Natagora will use the funds to create a vibrant new 16.5-hectare nature reserve In Brabant Wallon that will restore rare habitats like dry heathlands and sandy oak-birch forests, welcoming emblematic species such as the long-eared owl and viviparous lizard. Beyond its ecological richness, the site holds Bronze Age burial mounds and historic trails that whisper stories of the past. As part of the Natura 2000 network, it forms a vital ecological corridor between the Dyle and Meuse valleys. Find out more about the project here.

Who is behind the Climate Classic?
The Belgian Climate Classic is organised by a group of passionate volunteers based in Belgium who form a non-profit collective. Want to get to know us a little better? Check out our team page.
Can I get a tax certificate for my donations to the fundraiser?
Unfortunately, we can’t provide a tax certificate (fiscaal attest / attestation fiscale) for your donations. We are looking into this for future editions. Thanks for your kind support to our causes!
We explored this option for the second edition of the Climate Classic Belgium. However, enabling this requires several thousand euros, which is not yet possible for this second edition.
Where does my money go?
When you register for the Climate Classic, you pay a ticket fee. A fundraiser page is automatically created for you, via which you can raise donations for our good causes (this is optional, but highly encouraged and appreciated!).
The visual to the right illustrates how we are using your money. Your ticket fee is used to cover the costs of the event that we haven’t been able to cover via the in-kind and monetary support from our partners. This includes your jersey, organisation of the ravitos, insurance, etc. The donations to your fundraiser go fully to our partners Natuurpunt and Natagora.
The Climate Classic Belgium is run by a team of volunteers and is non-profit.

TICKETS
When will the registrations open?
Registrations will open around mid-july 2026 – make sure to sign up to our newsletter to be informed before the others and follow us on Instagram or Linkedin to receive all the updates!
What does my ticket include?
The ticket includes the welcome at the village, the digital version of the route (GPX file), one jersey with the Climate Stripes (size guide here), 1 or 2 refreshment breaks depending on your chosen distance.
I can’t come anymore, what to do?
As we are a volunteer organisation, it is not possible to refund your ticket within 30 days, but you can transfer it to a friend. Make sure to notify us about it, to allow insurances to be in order.
We also handle a waiting list, feel free to inform us of it at least a week before the event if you haven’t found someone to transfer it to.
Can I still register on the day of the event?
As long as we are not sold-out on our website, it is possible but we encourage you to register beforehand so we can have the right size of jersey for you! Our stock is limited.
FAMILIES
Can I bring my children?
Officially, for insurance and road safety reasons, we do not accept children under 16 years old – you can see this in our general conditions. However, we encourage you to come with your family at the start/finish for the celebration.
In practice, we can’t stop you from cycling the route with your family – but you’ll be doing so at your own risk. Keep in mind that even the 60 km route can be challenging for some.
For future editions we plan to offer a route more accessible to children and special bikes for people with limited mobility.
The running option can be an alternative.
Can I buy food and drinks on site if I don’t have a ticket?
Yes! Our food partner will be happy to provide you with food and drinks.
